How to pack kitchen glass so it arrives whole
Kitchen glass is the carton people open first and regret. Plates crack because they were stacked flat under a pot. Glasses break because they were dropped into a box of jars. The fix is dull and physical: wrap, stand the pieces upright, and do not put weight on them.

A method that survives a truck
Wrap each plate and stand the plates on their edge, like records, with paper between them. Glasses go in cells or are wrapped and packed upright, not nested inside each other. Lids are wrapped separately. Leave no empty space for the pieces to jump when the truck brakes.
Mark the carton GLASS and THIS SIDE UP. One glass carton should not also contain the pressure cooker. Heavy metal belongs in its own box, low in the load.
What does not go in the carton
Do not pack gas cylinders, fuel, paint thinners, or loose knives in a soft carton. A cylinder is a separate dangerous item and should be discussed before moving day, not hidden in the kitchen box. Perishable food should be eaten or given away. A truck is not a fridge you can rely on across a Punjab summer.
If a mover is packing for you
Be in the kitchen while it is packed, or accept that you will not know which plate was already cracked. Photograph sets you care about. Do a small test with one carton if you are packing yourself. Lift it. If it bows, it is too heavy. A carton you cannot lift is a carton that will be dropped on the stairs. For a move between cities, assume the truck will brake hard at least once. Pack for that stop, not for a table that never moves.
