A split AC is not part of the furniture list
A split AC is not a piece of furniture. The indoor unit, the outdoor unit, the copper pipe, and the gas inside the pipe are a technician’s job. If you treat it as “take it with the fridge,” the gas can leave the system, the pipe can kink, and the unit will not cool in the new house. That is a common complaint after a move in Pakistan, and it is preventable if you ask for it as a separate line on the booking.
This note is for 6 October 2026. Marsoos moves the household. An AC that must be taken down and put up again needs a trained person, and it needs to be said before the truck is booked, not when the crew is already on the stairs.
What to ask for
Ask, in writing, whether the quote includes taking the indoor and outdoor units down, protecting the pipes, and installing them at the new address. If the answer is no, book an AC technician for the same day or the day before. If the answer is yes, still ask whether the gas is pumped down, and whether the new house has a place for the outdoor unit that is not a wet ledge with no brackets.
A wall that still has the old holes, and a new wall with no holes, are different jobs. Measure the space. A unit that sat on a west wall in Karachi may not fit the same way in a Lahore balcony. Tell them the floor. A no-lift building changes how the outdoor unit is carried. There is a separate article on stairs.
The day before
Switch the AC off and let it rest. Do not pack clothes over the indoor unit while it is still on the wall. Clear the outdoor unit of plants and buckets so a person can stand there. If the society only allows work in a set window, that window has to cover the AC work as well as the truck. One pass at the gate is better than two arguments.
At the new house
Do not run the AC the minute it is hung. Ask the technician how long to wait. A leak you cannot see will show up as weak cooling two days later. If the unit was already weak, say that before it is taken down, and photograph it. The damage article on this site is the same idea: write it down the same day.
This is not a promise that Marsoos will do every AC in every city. It is a warning not to hide the unit inside the furniture list. House shifting is +92 312 6939758. If the rest of the home is going abroad, cargo is +92 333 5371111, and the AC is still a local technician’s job unless the office has said otherwise in writing.
