How Air Freight Is Priced

Airlines charge by chargeable weight: the higher of the actual weight and the volume weight. Volume weight is usually length × width × height in centimetres divided by 6000. Light but bulky boxes can cost more than you expect.

Example

A 60 × 50 × 50 cm carton weighing 12 kg has a volume weight of 25 kg, so it is charged as 25 kg.

Sea Freight Services

Less than Container Load means your goods share a container with others. You pay for the space you use, measured in cubic metres. Best for a few cubic metres of goods.

FCL: Full Container

Full Container Load gives you a whole container. As a rough guide, a 20-foot container holds about 33 cubic metres and a 40-foot container about 67, enough for a two-bedroom flat and a large house respectively.
