Some things cannot go in a cardboard box. A marble dining table, a glass cabinet, a framed painting or a piece of machinery needs a rigid, made-to-measure crate to survive a long journey.
From our Islamabad office in G-9 Markaz, Marsoos builds custom wooden crates on site or in the workshop for homes, galleries, embassies and businesses across Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and for shipments going abroad.

What We Crate
Marble and Stone
Table tops, counters and decorative stone, which can crack under their own weight if not supported.
Glass and Mirrors
Glass tables, cabinets and large mirrors, packed upright with corner protection.
Art and Antiques
Paintings, sculptures and antique furniture, with foam padding and moisture protection.
Electronics and Machinery
Large TVs, equipment and machine parts, fixed inside so they cannot move.
How We Build a Crate
Measuring and Design
We measure the item and decide on crate type, padding and how it will be lifted.
Materials
Pine or plywood panels with timber battens. For export, heat-treated wood is used.
ISPM 15 for Export
Many countries require wooden packaging to be heat treated and stamped under the international ISPM 15 standard, to stop pests travelling in the wood. We use compliant wood for shipments abroad.
Padding and Fixing
Foam, bubble wrap and blocking hold the item still inside the crate.
Closing and Marking
The crate is screwed shut, marked with handling directions and listed on the packing list.

Open Crates, Closed Crates and Skids
- Closed crates: full protection for fragile and valuable items
- Open or slatted crates: lighter, for sturdy items that need a frame for lifting
- Skids and pallets: a strong base for heavy machinery
Crating for Moves Inside Pakistan vs Shipments Abroad
Domestic Moves
For moves between cities such as Islamabad to Karachi, a sturdy crate or frame protects the item from road vibration and stacking. Standard timber is usually fine.
International Shipments
For export, crates must survive several lifts, long sea voyages and humidity, and usually need heat-treated wood with an ISPM 15 stamp. Moisture barriers are added for art and electronics.
Unpacking a Crated Item Safely
- Open the crate on its marked side and remove the screws, not by forcing the panels
- Let marble and glass rest flat before lifting
- Keep the crate if you may move again, as it can be reused for the same item
When You Need a Wooden Crate
- Shipping fragile or valuable items abroad
- Moving marble or glass between cities
- Storing art or antiques for a long period
- Any item listed in our fragile packing guide that is too large for a carton
