Office moving checklist for a Pakistan business

An office move fails on Monday morning when the computers are in the wrong room and nobody labelled the cables. The furniture is the easy part. The work is the inventory, the lift booking, and a weekend that is actually long enough.

Two weeks before

Write the list by desk, not by “the whole office.” Note servers, printers, and anything under warranty that the vendor should move. Tell the building manager the date and book the service lift in writing. A verbal promise from a guard is not a booking.

Decide what is not moving. Dead stock and broken chairs should not travel to the new office out of habit.

The week of the move

Back up the data you cannot afford to lose. Photograph the cable layout if the same people will not be there to reconnect it. Pack a small box of the things Monday needs: letterheads, a router, tea, and the keys. That box travels with a person, not at the bottom of the truck.

Label every workstation with the destination room. “Accounts” is more useful than “misc 4.” If the new office is in another city, say whether the desks must be usable the next day or can wait for a second trip.

Loading day

Start with the rooms that are already empty of people. Keep a clear path. Do not let a client meeting and a loaded corridor share the same hour. If the building has no lift, read the stair article on this site before you assume six people can carry a safe.

House and office moves are booked on +92 312 6939758. If the office is also shipping files or equipment abroad, that cargo is +92 333 5371111 and a separate list.

One more thing to settle

Tell staff the day they must clear their desks, and mean it. An office that is still trading at full pace while the crew is in the corridor loses both the afternoon’s work and the loading window. If customers will visit the new address on Monday, put the reception furniture and the internet on the first vehicle, not the archive.
