How to Pack an LED TV for a House Move in Pakistan

A cracked LED is one of the most common complaints after a house shift in Pakistan. The set looked fine on the wall. On the truck it lay flat under a duvet. At the new house the screen shows a dark line that will not go away. Replacement often costs more than the moving bill.

This note is only about the television. The fridge has its own steps in prepare the fridge and the society gate pass. Glass and plates are in how to pack kitchen glass. Do not mix those jobs with this one.

Take It Off the Wall Before the Sofa Starts Moving

A TV that is still on the bracket is in the way. People squeeze past it with a mattress and catch the corner. If you can take it down safely, do that the evening before. If it is a large set or a high mount, tell the crew when you book so they bring a carton and do not treat the screen like a cushion.

Stand and Bracket

Unscrew the stand. Bag the screws and tape the bag to the stand, not to the screen. The wall bracket can stay on the wall if the new house uses a different mount, or it can travel in a small carton. Do not leave the metal arms hanging off the back of the set; they snag on door frames.

Cables

Photograph the back of the TV before you unplug it. Coil HDMI and power cables separately. Do not wind cables tight around the neck of the set.

Protect the Screen, Then Keep It Upright

Wrap

Cover the screen with a soft cloth or foam so nothing hard touches the glass. Then wrap the whole set. The original carton is the best box if you still have it. If you do not, a fitted TV carton or a double-wall box with the set wedged so it cannot rattle is next best. A duvet thrown over a bare screen is not packing.

Carry and Load Upright

Keep the screen vertical, like a picture. Lying a modern LED flat on its back, then stacking a carton on it, is how the panel cracks from the inside. On the truck, strap it so it cannot fall, with the screen facing a soft surface, not a table leg.

What Must Not Sit on the TV

  • Other cartons
  • A microwave
  • A folded table top
  • A person sitting on the load

At the New House

Take the TV in first or last, not in the middle of a sofa jam on the stairs. Let it stand in the room before you plug it in, especially if it came off a cold truck in winter. Check the screen in daylight before the crew leave, and note any line or spot on the delivery list.

If you find damage later, you will need those notes. What to do if your goods arrive damaged explains the next steps.

Conclusion

An LED survives a move when it comes off the wall early, the screen is wrapped, and it travels upright with nothing on top. Mention the size of the set at the survey so the crew bring the right carton. For a house-shifting quote, call or WhatsApp +92 312 6939758.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I lay an LED TV flat on the truck?

No. Keep it upright. A flat panel with weight on it often cracks from the inside.

What if I do not have the original TV box?

Use a fitted TV carton or a tight double-wall box. Wrap the screen first. A duvet alone is not enough.

Should the wall bracket stay on the TV?

No. Remove it or it will catch on doors. Bag the screws.

When should I take the TV off the wall?

The evening before, or ask the crew if the mount is high or heavy.

Can the TV travel with kitchen glass?

No. Give it its own space. Glass cartons and TVs should not share a stack.

What if the screen is marked on arrival?

Note it on the delivery list before the crew leave, and keep photos.
