A cracked LED is one of the most common complaints after a house shift in Pakistan. The set looked fine on the wall. On the truck it lay flat under a duvet. At the new house the screen shows a dark line that will not go away. Replacement often costs more than the moving bill….
Sending a few cartons or a whole house from Pakistan to the UK is two jobs: packing here, and clearing UK customs there. Families often have the cartons ready and then discover the UK side wants a Transfer of Residence application (ToR1) and a list that matches the boxes. This article is about the papers,…
Most Pakistani wardrobes are moved the hard way: clothes stuffed into shopping bags, drawers left full, and shoes thrown on top of shirts. The bags tear on the stairs. The wardrobe joints crack because they were lifted with the weight still inside. And the first night in the new house is spent hunting for a…
Taking a car out of Karachi is a different job from packing a house. The car has to be driven or winched onto a carrier, strapped so it cannot roll, and delivered with the same mileage and the same paintwork. People search for car carrier, car transport and car movers, all with the same intent:…
A house move in Karachi does not always line up with the day your new keys are ready. The landlord wants the old flat empty, the new DHA house is still being painted, or you are flying out and need somewhere dry for the furniture until you return. That is when people search for storage…
Search for shipping companies in Pakistan and you will find hundreds of names, each promising the lowest rate and the fastest delivery. Many are honest. Some are one person with a phone who hands your cargo to someone else. Once your goods leave your house, you have very little control, so the right choice has…
Moving back to Pakistan after years in Dubai, Riyadh, London, or Toronto is a big step. You have built a home abroad, and much of what is in it, from the sofa and the beds to the kitchen things your family uses every day, is worth bringing back. The good news is that Pakistan Customs…
Families send a lot from Pakistan to relatives in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi: clothes, kitchen things, books, gifts, and often food from home. Most of it is fine. A few items are banned by UAE customs, and some need a permit before they can enter. One wrong item can hold the whole shipment, so…
Most bad moving stories in Pakistan start the same way. Someone finds a number on Facebook, OLX, or a search ad, gets a very low price on WhatsApp, and books. The truck is unmarked. Halfway through the trip, or at the new gate, the price doubles, and the driver will not unload until the extra…
The cargo questions that come up under “international cargo services in Islamabad,” Karachi, and Lahore are the same three: how many days, how much per kilo, and which papers. A competitor page will print a rate. That figure is a starting line for their file, not a Marsoos price list, and it is not yours…
